2023 Color Trends to Watch
January 11, 2023
As another year begins and we say goodbye to the last year, the designers of the world reveal their latest and greatest trends. Benjamin Moore recently announced their Color of the Year and the Color Trends for 2023. Let’s talk about them!
Benjamin Moore’s 2023 Color of the Year
The much-anticipated Color of the Year was announced late last year by Benjamin Moore. They selected Raspberry Blush as their 2023 shade. According to the brand, “the hue is a saturated red-orange that was inspired by an artist’s desire to communicate through color, shape, and sound.”
Raspberry Blush
The hue is quite simply a vivacious coral shade with pink undertones. Benjamin Moore describes its own color as charismatic, dynamic, and positive in its mood. This unapologetic shade of red-orange as well as the rest of the Color Trends palette had the company thinking: “bold, bolder, boldest.”
In other words, they aren’t backing down from bright brilliant colors after the gloom and doom that the pandemic and the last couple of years have brought.
In a new twist, Benjamin Moore is commemorating this year’s selection with electro-funk duo Chromeo to underscore the upbeat and optimistic tone of the palette and the dynamic role color plays in self-expression—much like music. Listen to the beat on their Raspberry Blush page.
Some suggestions for favorite places to use Raspberry Blush include taking on a dining room update, adding a pop of color in your entryway, or revamping your ensuite bathroom with the richness of this hue.

In addition to the Color of the Year, Benjamin Moore also announced the Color Trends for this year.
Rounding out the eight colors (including Raspberry Blush) are
- Conch Shell – a gentle pink reminiscent of a sepia tone
- Cinnamon – a rich brown touched by orange undertones
- Wenge – a deep chocolate hue that features hints of brown, black, and violet in its undertone
- Savannah Green – a rich ochre that features a balanced undertone of green and yellow
- New Age – a light purple that’s grounded by a drop of gray
- Starry Night Blue- a radiant navy akin to the dark indigo of dusk
- North Sea Green – a soothing teal that has a delicate gray undertone
These dazzling and sumptuous hues are confident and daring. Whether you plan to revitalize your family room or create a haven in your bedroom, these colors can help you make a statement and give each space some personality it may have been lacking.
