Aging Finish

If your deck is made of wood, as so many decks in our region are, it may be trying to tell you that it needs a new coat of paint or finish. Take a closer look at your deck. Does the wood feel soft? Does it look damp or discolored? Are the supports solid? While you are examining your deck, check each board to be sure it is not warped or cracked. Check the railings and stairs to be sure they are secure as well. Wiggly or loose railings or boards are a sign that some repairs are needed.
