Benefits of Priming

Painting is a multi-step process that can mean hours of prep work including emptying a room of furniture, washing the walls, repairing holes and, of course, priming the walls. Skipping any of these steps can mean a less than quality finished product. At Jerry Enos Painting, we believe in taking painstaking steps to protect each job site whether indoors or out. We treat your home as if it is our own. Part of this commitment to high quality painting is taking the time to  do each step. Priming is one such step that can help create a beautifully finished room.

Benefits of Priming

  • Richer Color – High quality primer hides previous colors and allows for a clean slate for the paint to be applied. Paint colors will be more vibrant with a primer.
  • Longer Lasting – By using a primer your paint color will stay fresh looking longer.

Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted.

  • Stain Blocker – Primers are excellent at hiding blemishes and stains on walls and ceilings. Even water stains can be covered easily by primer.

  • Save Money and Time – Primers are designed to seal the surface. With that seal in place, less paint is used to cover the wall. This means both a time and cost savings. For example, a gallon of primer cost less than a gallon of paint. In addition, fewer coats of paint with be needed when a homeowner uses a primer.
  • A Smooth Surface – The use of a primer prevents peeling, cracks, and fading of the paint.
